Why Religion Matters in the U.S. politics...according to the English

So my brother found this article and posted in on Facebook the other day.  I thought it was interesting (and annoying) that the author insults us for having religious leaders, and praises English politics for not having them (interesting, considering England's background of the relationship between religion and the state...but maybe that's why they hate politics in leadership so much?).

  1. Fascinating ... I'm struck by the fixation on Mormon weirdness, of course. In the US, that often works to reassure Protestants that their faith is reasonable/un-weird. For this Brit, it seems to work like it does with some segments of the political left in the US ... as the end of a simply weird spectrum called "religion."
