Political Cartoon

After reading the comment in the Washington post about the "Book of Mormon" play compared to a play called "The Koran", I remembered this. Thought it was pretty funny. If you remember some years ago when a political cartoonist drew a picture of Muhammad. Muslims were outraged about this because it is contrary to their customs and belief of portraying the prophet. This was around the same time President Hinckley was in the hospital.

Whitefield must have been a great speaker....

Because he sure wasn't a looker.

So my brother found this article and posted in on Facebook the other day.  I thought it was interesting (and annoying) that the author insults us for having religious leaders, and praises English politics for not having them (interesting, considering England's background of the relationship between religion and the state...but maybe that's why they hate politics in leadership so much?).

You'll want to read this article by a theologian I quite like named Stephen Webb. He's the author of Jesus Christ, Eternal God, which came out last year with Oxford University Press. It has a very interesting chapter on Mormon Christology. Enjoy the article!

This recent study, done by the Pew Research Group, asked Mormons about different aspects of religious worship, and outsiders views on Mormonism.

After you read, read this article by Joanna Brooks. She said on Twitter that Romney's victory in NH means that Mormons need to stop having a "persecution complex."  What do you think the numbers say? Do you think the Church has a persecution complex?
